1. General provisions

These terms govern all purchases made on nitteberg.as and apply to both Norwegian and foreign customers. By completing a purchase, you fully accept these terms.

For Norwegian customers, the Norwegian Sale of Goods Act and Consumer Purchases Act apply. For foreign customers, Norwegian law applies with the modifications set out in these terms.

Nitteberg AS may change these terms at any time. Changes will be published on the website and apply to new orders after publication.

Language and jurisdiction: The website is offered in Norwegian and English. Norwegian customers primarily shop in Norwegian with Vipps as the standard payment solution. Foreign customers can choose English, where Stripe will be available as the payment solution.

2. Product information and prices

All products are described as accurately as possible on nitteberg.as. Product images may differ from the actual product.

Prices for Norwegian customers (Norwegian language):

Displayed in Norwegian kroner (NOK) including 25% value added tax
Final price at checkout includes all charges

Prices for foreign customers (English language):

Displayed in US dollars (USD) excluding Norwegian value added tax
Exchange rate is updated daily based on the current market rate
Local taxes, customs duties, and import fees are additional and are the buyer’s responsibility
Final charge on the payment card may vary based on the bank’s exchange rate

Price changes and corrections may occur in case of obvious errors. Customers will be notified immediately in such cases.

3. Ordering and agreement

The purchase agreement is concluded when payment has been made and the order confirmation has been sent to the customer’s email address. The order confirmation serves as proof of purchase.

All orders are binding once the agreement has been concluded, subject to applicable rights of withdrawal.

4. Right of withdrawal

For Norwegian customers (Consumer Purchases Act)
You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of receiving the item. The right of withdrawal is exercised by sending us a written notice within the deadline.

Procedure:

  • Send an email to retur@nitteberg.as or call customer service

  • Provide the order number and reason for return

  • Return the item in its original packaging and unused condition

Return shipment and refund:

  • You cover the return costs (domestic shipping) unless the return is due to our error

  • We refund the purchase amount in NOK within 14 days after receiving the return

  • Refunds are made to the same payment method as the purchase (Vipps/bank card)

For foreign customers
You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of receiving the item, in accordance with Norwegian law.

Procedure:

  • Send an email to returns@nitteberg.as (English customer service)

  • Provide the order number and reason for return in English

  • Return the item in its original packaging and unused condition

International returns:

  • You cover all costs for return shipment to Norway

  • The item must be sent to our Norwegian address

  • We recommend a trackable shipment with insurance

  • You are responsible for the item arriving to us

  • We refund the purchase amount in USD within 14 days after receiving the return

  • Refunds are made via Stripe to the original payment method

  • Any currency conversion fees on the refund are not covered

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal (all customers):

  • Custom-made products

  • Hygiene products that cannot be returned

  • Sealed products that cannot be returned for health reasons

  • Products that deteriorate quickly or have a short shelf life

5.Payment and payment solutions

Norwegian customers (website in Norwegian)

Standard payment solution: Vipps Business Checkout

Alternative payment methods:

  • Bank card (Visa, Mastercard) via secure terminal
  • Online banking
  • Invoice (only by special agreement)

Currency and taxes: All prices and payments in NOK including 25% Norwegian VAT. No additional fees from our side.

Foreign customers (website in English)

Standard payment solution: Stripe

Available payment methods via Stripe:

  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit card
  • Apple Pay, Google Pay (where available)
  • Other local payment methods depending on the country

Currency and fees:

  • All prices shown in USD excluding Norwegian VAT
  • Payment charged in USD via Stripe
  • Any currency conversion fees from your bank are additional
  • No processing fees from our side

Security: All payment information is processed through secure, encrypted systems:

  • Vipps: PCI DSS Level 1 certified
  • Stripe: PCI DSS Level 1 certified with 3D Secure support

Charge: Payment is charged upon order confirmation. The order is processed only upon successful payment.

6. Delivery

Domestic delivery (Norway)

  • Delivery time: 1-3 business days
  • Carriers: PostNord
  • Shipping cost: Always free shipping
  • Delivery address: To the specified address in Norway
  • Delivery: Requires valid ID upon delivery

International delivery

  • Delivery time: 7-21 business days depending on destination
  • Carriers: FedEx
  • Shipping cost: Calculated automatically in USD based on destination, weight, and size
  • Delivery address: To the specified international address
  • Tracking: All international shipments include a tracking number

Customs and duties (foreign customers only):

  • Local customs and import duties are the customer’s responsibility
  • Duties vary by destination country and product type
  • Duties are paid directly to the carrier or customs authorities
  • We cannot pre-calculate exact customs and duty amounts

Delivery and risk:

  • Norwegian customers: Risk transfers upon delivery to the specified address
  • Foreign customers: Risk transfers when the item leaves Norway/is handed over to the international carrier

Shipping confirmation: Tracking information is sent to the customer’s email when the item is handed over to the carrier.

7. Stock status and reservation

We deliver while stocks last. If items are sold out, we will contact the customer immediately with the option to:

  • Wait for new delivery (estimated time will be provided)
  • Receive a full refund
  • Replace with an equivalent product

8. Warranty and complaints

For Norwegian customers (Norwegian Sale of Goods Act/Consumer Purchases Act)

Statutory right to claim for defects

All products come with the right to claim for defects under the Sale of Goods Act and Consumer Purchases Act, giving you strong rights in the event of product defects.

Claim deadlines

  • Main rule: 2 years from receipt of the item
  • Durable products: 5 years (furniture, large appliances, durable consumer goods)
  • Claims must be made within a reasonable time after the defect is discovered

Important: Submit a claim as soon as the defect is discovered to secure your rights.

Burden of proof

  • First 6 months: We must prove that the defect did not exist at delivery
  • After 6 months: You must demonstrate that the defect existed at delivery

For foreign customers

Right to claim for defects under Norwegian law

  • Claim deadline: 2 years from receipt of the item
  • Additional rights: Local consumer rights in your home country may provide further protection
  • Language: Claims can be sent in English to returns@nitteberg.as

Practical considerations for foreign customers

  • Return: The cost and logistics for returning items to Norway are your responsibility
  • Replacement parts: Can be shipped internationally, but customs duties/taxes may apply
  • Local service: We do not offer local service/repair outside Norway

Manufacturer’s warranty (all customers)

Many products come with the manufacturer’s warranty in addition to the statutory right to claim for defects. Warranty terms are provided with the product.

9. Your rights in case of defects

  • Price reduction: Receive a reduced price corresponding to the loss in value

  • Return shipping: Customer’s responsibility and cost to return to Norway
  • Replacement shipping: We cover shipping costs for replacement items
  • Local repair: Not available – items must be returned to Norway for assessment

11. Privacy and data protection

12. Limitation of liability

Nitteberg AS’s liability is limited to the value of the product, except for personal injury caused by product defects. We are not liable for indirect losses resulting from product use.

Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failure to deliver due to circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, war, strikes, government orders, etc.).

13. Intellectual property rights

All content on nitteberg.as (text, images, logos, design) is protected by copyright. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

Disputes are resolved under Norwegian law in Norwegian courts. Alternative dispute resolution mechanisms may be available depending on the customer’s home country and EU/EEA regulations.

Language switch: Foreign visitors can switch to English at the top of the page, which automatically activates Stripe checkout.

Norwegian customers

  • Jurisdiction: Oslo District Court, subject to the consumer’s right to choose their local district court

International customers

  • EU/EEA customers: EU consumer protection directives may provide additional rights

  • Language: Contract terms available in English; Norwegian version legally binding in case of interpretation disputes

Choice of law and interpretation rules

  • Main rule: Norwegian law applies to all purchase agreements
  • Favorability principle: For foreign consumers, the consumer legislation of their home country applies when it is more favorable than Norwegian law
  • Interpretation disputes: In case of conflict between language versions, the Norwegian version is legally binding
